DESIGN CONCEPTS: Baraka project
After studies of Gestalt theory of perception and color theory, freshmen students from all majors were shown the movie Baraka (non-narrative,
Ron Fricke, 1992) in class, sketching and taking notes while they watched. Based on their emotional reactions, they designed a poster, using what they had learned during the first half of the semester. I used this project several times and was always astounded by the variety of responses.
